This month the giants are coming for dinner!
Choose your language!
Some questions you can ask to help you tell your tales:
What are the names of the children in the story?
Who all lives in this little house?
Who else lives in the Big Mountains - what secrets are held there?
Which neighbors were invited to the party?
Did everyone dress up?
What do the giants do in their village? Do they have special skills and create something that only the giants can make?
What do the water fairies do all day?
What else happened during the Big Storm?
Talk about one of the bees.
Which of the giants did grandfather make friends with? Is he still friends with them and does he still get to visit the hidden village?
What games do they play at the party?
What sort of dancing do the giants do?
What is that fairy doing on top of the cake?
Inside the August Tale you will find the Starter Tale which you may choose to read once at the beginning of the month or each day that you are telling your Tales or anything in between.
You will also find 12 little prompt cards. Please download them and print them out! These are high quality pdf files and I like to use a recycled card stock that works ver well.
You will find many different paths to travel and characters to meet along the way - however many YOU choose!
You may end up picking each of the cards more than once allowing for different things to happen each time or to add on to what you've told before. One of the best things to do if you are just starting out on your journey as storyteller is to focus on details - details of the physical surroundings, such as, objects in your tale, smells in the air, temperature or sounds. And then go from there and enjoy yourself! The children will have many ideas that will surprise and delight you as well :)
As always, let me know if you have any thoughts or questions at all by contacting me here.
