How to make your lantern
• Jar - I went to the the thrift store for different shapes and sizes
• Tissue paper - tear into pieces • Mod podge or a glue and water mixture. • Brush • Votive candle • Wire - I'm using hemp covered wire from the floral section at the craft store. • Print the images - I used regular, recycled printer paper. Thicker, glossy paper may not turn out as transparent as what you see in my photo. Add the tissue paper and images in any order. Brush on with the glue. The paper will stick very easily. Layer as you please. Wrap the wire around the rim of the jar and glue if necessary. You may also wish to glue the votive on the bottom of the jar. The Mountain Sage Community School's Lantern Walk page is full of songs to learn and a number of tutorials to make your lantern walk as magical as can be! | ||||||
Matching games are fun for any age! These autumn themed watercolor images will delight as you exercise your memory and spend time together.
Print two of each page on heavy paper. After you cut them you may wish to round the corners (it makes them less likely to bend and it looks nice too :)
You don't need to use them all each time depending on the ages of the children as there are kind of a lot!
You can also use them to write tiny notes and put in a gift, or as a note to your children from the fairies :)
Nine whimsical pages illustrated with Autumn art from original watercolors. Toadstools, a fairy, Arnold the mouse, seed pods, little lanterns, starry sky and and sunflowers and more!
For writing letters, special notes, telling stories or drawing.
A magical autumn crown!
Print the pages, cut out the autumnal bits and glue them on. Instructions included. For your children, their dolls, or you! Have a crown making party! OR make an autumn garland with the shapes like I did ;)
*for personal use only - but feel free to have flower crown making parties with friends! xo Marna
p.s. glue works just splendidly but if you have glue dots they work VERY well for this project.
Writing letters to special people is a wonderful activity for anyone of any age. Everyone loves to receive special letters in the mail :)
You may also use these for your kids to draw or write continuations of their stories!
Print as many as you'd like.
