May is here! The days are shorter, the mornings are frosty. This month we meet Lottie. A girl who dreams stories. Really, we all dream stories. I wish I could remember mine better to write them down! Do you remember your dreams?
Lottie and you will have many an adventure this month!
Please visit the BLOG - this month there's a link to our school's page where you will find Lantern songs (recordings as well!) and instructions on how to make several sorts of lanterns.
Read the story and then choose a story-starter card and continue on your own adventure! Happy Storytelling!
As you delve into your May Tale and depending on the age of your child or children, and the setting in which you are telling your stories, things will look different -
but if you are ever having any difficulty figuring out what to say after reading the starter tale or the story-starter cards it always helps to think of details.
What does is feel like once you walk out your door? Is it cold, sunny, breezy? Does it smell like wood smoke or musty leaves or is it warm and still summer-like in your land? What changes have you seen lately outside? Have the squirrels taken all the acorns into their nests? Imagine yourself walking down a path by a lake, or river or somewhere familiar to you. Talk about what you, or Lottie in this case, might see along the way. Add in a mysterious gnome or faerie that you might follow to wherever they might be heading.
