The Adventures of August!
Here we meet a child named August.
August lives near a pond and discovers the most amazing things there. The magic of summer is something many of us have fond memories of whether clear or vague. It seems that anything could happen, and here in August's little world, it just might. Exploring simple pleasures of picking raspberries and remembering dreams and imagining what goes on underneath the surface of the pond are wonderful childhood experiences and the magic that many a stories are made of!

This story is written with they/them pronouns.
This is a choice and term most of us will have encountered by now and while children, as soon as they are exposed to this language, will adapt to it pretty easily, it is often the adults who may have difficulties - not difficulty, of course (I hope!!!), in accepting gender neutrality or wishing to respect individuals identifying as non-binary or understanding that some folks would simply prefer not to have their gender included in their title - but because it isn’t something all of us have integrated into our vocabulary yet.
I thought we could practice together.
It may sound grammatically incorrect at times. There are many resources you can easily find to explain how to use they/them pronouns and all the information one could possibly wish as we integrate new terms into our collective vocabularies.
I am not an expert on this subject but this is one thing I have to offer in my own striving to be an ally.
