Happy July! It's the perfect time for a parade! Make a crown, tie ribbons to a stick, find some friends and you're off! BUT, you don't need a crown or a wand or extra participants - a parade can happen at any time, in any place, to make the day more magical and fun.
This story is written with some rhyming. It could be fun to rhyme as well when you tell the story to your littles or when the bigger kids do their creative writing, but you don't have to at all, of course. This is the thing about storytelling - you can do anything! Please have an amazing adventure! Please see the paper flower crown print-out below to make some crowns for your parade!
I love that one has to be 100% present to make up a story and how the story being created pulls from the collective experience of the group and how storytelling delights everyone involved. If you are new to storytelling it may take a little time for you to find the storyteller within but these prompts will help you get there. Find a special spot, light a candle, sing the song that many storytellers sing (you can find me singing it on the blog here :) and make sure you look into the children's faces. They will join you in the magical place you are creating together in the land of storytelling and you will see the wonder there. It will help you on your way. Have a wonderful time! Happy Storytelling!
